I was born and raised in the upper mid-west but spent my married years living in various areas of the U.S.   I am a self-taught artist and began watercolor painting in the late 1980s while living in beautiful Vermont.   The time-worn, wood-sided barns, store fronts and reflective windows inspired me to do several studies capturing the characteristics of wood and glass.  The end result was a series of paintings I titled Windows of Vermont.  I paint from my photographs as well as those by very talented photographers, (with permission of course).   I'm always on the look out for another interesting window or door to paint.

We moved to Arizona in 1994 for sunshine and low humidity and quickly learned the southwest also had much to offer regarding subject matter.

My educational background was in nursing, a career that ended in the 80's due to multiple sclerosis.  My work has been shown across the United States and sold in galleries.  However, at this time in my life, I'm unable to keep up the pace of a professional artist, so I paint for my own enjoyment and my own walls.  I don't belong to any artist association because I never felt the need.

I wish to thank the very talented photographers who have generously shared their work with me.  Photographers will be acknowledged in the title of the paintings.

A very famous person sent me a NOTE.
